The Big Chill is a newly constructed 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home on 17 acres of pristine mountain wilderness as part of The Ranches, a gated community adjacent to Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa. Inside, you’ll find exquisite mindfulness for comfort and thoughtful amenities built into the design and construction of this magnificent, brand-new home away from home!
The versatile Big Chill home is perfect for families and small groups. Three of the Four Bedrooms are interchangeable master bedrooms with ensuite baths. The fourth bedroom is a bunkroom with ample bedding for kids or individual adults. The house is generally equipped to accommodate 10 people at maximum occupancy. Each of the three master bedrooms has a King bed, an ensuite bathroom featuring a steam shower or soaking tub, a cozy gas fireplace with a small sitting area, the ability to access your personal streaming services or musical subscriptions on the in-room TV and sound system, and a personal deck with gorgeous mountain views. The kid’s bunk room has four twin beds and a full bathroom.
The spacious living area, dining room, and kitchen feature vaulted ceilings and a floor plan that opens to an outdoor courtyard and patio with a BBQ, hot tub, and firepit—perfect for relaxation after a full day of recreation, exploration, and adventure. Other features include radiant floor heating, a 2-car garage that has 2 electric vehicle chargers with additional parking capacity in the driveway, a mud room for transitioning into the house after outdoor activities, and upscale furnishings and appointments throughout the newly constructed home.
True to its name, the Big Chill is also a rare find for a dog-friendly rental. It has an outdoor dog run with a door so your pets can be outside unattended. Rental guests are limited to two dogs, and dogs must be registered with us in the signed rental agreement.
This house truly has it all! Casual comfort within a brand-new build that offers privacy and intimacy for your family or group, while guests have access to all the activities, dining, spa, and guest amenities of Devil’s Thumb Ranch just as if they were staying right on the property. Groomed Nordic skiing trails by winter and hiking trails in summer run through the community for your recreation convenience.
The Big Chill makes the perfect addition to any lodging mix for a group wedding or event taking place at the Ranch and is also the perfect choice of accommodations for an executive board or leadership meeting or retreat. (Please be cognizant that the house cannot exceed the maximum occupancy of 10 people at any time and is not meant as a gathering place for larger groups.)

Pricing starts at $2,500* per night with a 2-night minimum. One night’s non-refundable lodging deposit is required at the time of booking. Maximum occupancy of 10 guests. No smoking is allowed. *Holiday pricing starts at $3,500* with a 3-night minimum. 5-night minimum over Christmas and New Year’s.

Maximum occupancy at The Big Chill is 10 People. No more than 10 people may occupy The Big Chill at any time during your stay. The Big Chill may not be used to congregate for parties larger than 10 people. A signed Rental Agreement is required to confirm a Big Chill Reservation.
