With more than 100km of groomed trails nestled in the pristine and private Ranch Creek valley at the base of the Continental Divide, we're the premier Nordic center for Colorado and North American cross country skiing. Whether you enjoy skate, classic or snowshoeing; there are rewarding experiences waiting to happen.
Novices can start the day with a private or group lesson from one of our friendly instructors. More seasoned Nordic enthusiasts will find our advanced technique clinics helpful. And, of course, a wide variety of quality cross country ski equipment is available for purchase or rental - including infant sleds and skijoring rigs. Dogs on leashes are welcome on our dog-friendly trails. Our Nordic Center and ski trails are open daily during ski season. With a daily trail pass, you can pay one rental fee that allows for skiing, showshoeing, fatbiking and skijoring that day.
For current trail conditions visit our Groomer Report for a list of trails that have been groomed or call our Trails Hotline at 970-726-7010. To reach our Nordic Center Staff, please call 970-726-8231.

Stagecoach Classic Toko Wax Recommendation
Devil’s Thumb Ranch, Tabernash, CO Saturday, January 21
9 A.M. 30K Classic, 10:30 A.M. 15K Classic Mass starts, Point to point
Forecast/Conditions: Forecast calls for a slight chance of snow Friday night with an overnight low of 12 warming to the mid-teens for
the 9 A.M. start under mostly cloudy conditions. The actual air temperature at Devil’s Thumb tends to be ~10 degrees colder than forecasted.
Glidewax: Apply LF Blue, scrape and brush, then apply HF Blue scrape and brush. Finish by crayoning JetStream Blue, iron hot (320F) with a layer of fiberlene under the iron, traveling slowly (60 seconds) tip to tail. Brush with a dedicated nylon polishing brush and polish with a thermopad.
Gripwax: Roughen base with 150 grit sandpaper, iron in Nordic Base Wax Green, cork smooth, let cool. Then apply 4-5 layers of Nordic GripWax Blue, corking between layers. Late wave starters will want to use GripWax Red covered with a layer of GripWax Blue.
Structure: A fine linear structure covered by one pass with the Blue Structurite tool (before JetStream application) will best suit these conditions.
