Wrangler Camps

Giddyup! It's time for Wrangler Camp!

You can experience the life of a wrangler during one, or all three, of our week-long camps. Offered the first week of June, July and August.  Learn horsemanship, make new friends and have a great time in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Open to ages 12 and up. Great for families!

Monday arrival (Check-in at Devil's Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa between 4pm and 5pm.)

Arrive early to check out the Ranch, go for a hike, or enjoy one of the many local attractions.

Then join us at the Lodge for a Dinner Wagon ride and Camp orientation from 5pm - 6:30pm. Upon our return, you will have the opportunity to dine at Heck's (billed separately).

Tuesday, from 9am to noon, we’ll learn the basics of horsemanship including:  introductions, catching, haltering, grooming, saddling and groundwork.

Noon to 1:30pm  - lunch break.

The afternoon, from 1:30pm to 4pm, will provide time for additional groundwork and riding introductions. Un-tack and turnout for the day.

Then spend the evening relaxing by the pool, playing games in the game room, watching a movie and eating dinner.

Wednesday morning, from 9am to noon, we'll catch, groom and saddle your mount for a half-day trail ride.

Noon to 1:30pm  - lunch break.

This afternoon, it's time to cowboy or cowgirl up. From 1:30pm to 4pm, we'll gather cattle for some team penning in the arena. Un-tack and turnout for the day.

4pm to 6pm will feature a team driving demonstration. Get hands-on experience or practice your roping skills (not on horseback).

Thursday morning, from 9am to noon, we'll catch, groom and saddle our mounts for a farewell half-day trail ride with a trail adventure course to end the camp. Final goodbyes.

Noon to 1pm - late check-out.   

$485 per person. Lodging, meals and other activities not included.

No minimums and a maximum of 8 guests per camp.
