If you're looking for a true mountain setting with the conveniences of a city-based facility, we have the perfect venue options for you.
Talk about wide-open spaces. The centerpiece of our meeting and event center, the Broad Axe Barn is a magnificent 2,900 square foot room with a 25-foot high vaulted ceiling and expansive 7 ft. x 10 ft. windows offering breathtaking views of the Continental Divide. Framed by 150-year-old hand-hewn white oak and beech beams, every detail of the barn adds an authentic and rustic touch - from the 30-foot hand stacked stone fireplace to the white oak wood floors. Open the sliding "barn door" and stroll onto a 2,200 square foot deck - the perfect spot from which to enjoy the stunning beauty of Devil's Thumb Ranch. Accommodates up to 160 persons in banquet style seating.
Coming Winter 2013... Nestled on the hillside overlooking the Ranch, our new 50,000 square foot Lodge will include 31 guest rooms, four guest suites, wine grotto, and meeting and event space for groups of up to 350 people. The centerpiece of the Lodge is the High Lonesome Barn, a Civil War-era structure moved here piece by piece from Ohio, with a wall of windows and unparalleled views of the Continental Divide and Ranch Creek Valley.
Our private dining room named in memory of family members John L. Fanch I and John L. Fanch II has a bit of history behind it. In the 1950's, John purchased land in the Adirondack State Park in upstate New York with his brother-in-law. Later, the land was passed down to his sons – one of whom is the owner of Devil's Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa. To ensure a piece of this family history lived on, 150-year-old cherry trees were harvested from the family's New York land, kiln dried, and shipped to Colorado. The beautiful cherry wine racks and beams surrounding you in this room, as well as the uncorking barrel that you walk through to get there, are made from this family timber. An intimate and elegant setting for both private dinners or meetings for two to 16 persons.
A perfect spot for those seeking a more intimate venue for their event. 150-year-old hand-hewn beams frame this 900-square-foot room. Its windows are nearly all glass, allowing for a 240-degree view of the scenic Ranch Creek Valley and Continental Divide. This room also opens onto our 2,200-square-foot attached outdoor deck. Ideal for weddings, receptions or team-building meetings up to 30 persons.
This private meeting room is filled with all of the essential audio-visual bells and whistles. It opens onto our 2,200-square-foot outdoor deck, the perfect place for between meeting breaks. This venue accommodates up to 20 persons in meeting-style seating.
This private meeting room is located on the upper level of the Lodge and is perfect for small break-out sessions up to 12 person. A large work table, comfortable leather chairs and seclusion make it a great place for really getting things done. And after you've hammered out the big plan, Heck's Tavern is just steps away.
Located in the lower level of the Lodge, the Theater features stadium-style seating for 37, a large media screen and top-of-the-line AV equipment perfect for presentations - or catching the big game while you're away.

Our retail shop offers everything from unique outwear to keep you warm in the mountain air, to sundries and snacks, to one-of-a-kind works of art. A warm and inviting place to browse, Zach's Mercantile is framed by 150-year-old hand hewn beams, finished with hand-stacked stone walls and unique rustic details. The perfect place to end a day of meetings, Ranch Creek Spa offers Athletic, Swedish, Essential Oil or Hot Stone Massages, Hydrotherapy, Hand & Foot Care, Facials, Steam treatments and more. Our natural botanical products are hand-crafted for our mountain environment and will leave you refreshed, relaxed, and ready for whatever tomorrow brings.
Our indoor entry/outdoor pool is named after the "fish" in the family. Pond shaped in order not to distract from the natural outdoor setting, it's a great spot to enjoy the sunny Colorado skies. In the winter, warm your muscles in the nearby outdoor Jacuzzi while you marvel at the snow-capped mountains behind you. Heated by geothermal heat, an environmentally friendly method pulling warmth from the earth, the Jacuzzi is open year-round.
