Trail Rides

Vibrant aspen groves, clear flowing rivers, luscious green meadows and breath taking views are all there for the taking when you discover the rustic beauty and charm of Devils Thumb Ranch the old fashioned way: on horseback!  Our experienced and friendly wranglers will help you get the most out of your happy steed while sharing their knowledge of the local area, flora and wildlife.   We carefully cater to each groups experience level to make sure that everyone has a great time.   Half day morning and afternoon rides and full day rides are available to riders aged 8 and over.

1/2 Day rides   (2.5 hrs)       9.30am & 2.00pm         $80/person (includes water, snack, hat clip)
Full Day rides    (7 hrs)               9.00am                          $165/person (inlcudes water, lunch, hat clip)   Minimums apply 

Private rides are also available at $20 extra per person.

Cattlework (team penning, cutting, sorting)
For those that want to feel like a real cowboy and take on a little 'raw hide' why not add a little cattle work to your ride?  Join us in the arena before or after your trail ride to learn how to work cattle in a fun and encouraging environment, giggles almost certainly guaranteed!

1/2 day trail/cattle combo (2.5 hrs)    9.30am & 2.00pm $100/person (includes water, snack, hat clip)

Lessons
Whether you want to improve your own horsemanship or teach your kids a more defined approach to learning to ride, lessons are available to on and off site guests of the ranch.

1 hour lesson           $75.00/person                           Contact a member of the barn staff to schedule a time and discuss your lesson interests.       

Wagon rides

Let somebody else do the hard work as you sit back and enjoy the spectacular scenery surrounding Devil's Thumb Ranch.  Your happy hosts will tell you all about the history of the ranch and point out all the interesting features of the valley as you clip clop your way along our quiet back roads.  Bring a camera and a big smile!

Carriage rides
Looking for something a little special?   Whether you are looking to  make a grand entrance to your wedding or treat your family to an unforgettable sunset ride to dinner, a carriage ride is sure to leave you with fond memories of your time at the ranch.

Evening carriage rides (available Thursday, Friday, Saturday)   $40/person              Minimum charges apply

Pony rides
Don't let the big kids have all the fun!  Your little buckaroo (age 7 & under) will love taking a woodland adventure on a pony just their size!

1/2 hour pony ride                                              $25/child
