Cabin Creek Stables at Devil's Thumb Ranch offers anything but the same old trail ride. Explore by horseback, sleigh or wagon. Get close to the Continental Divide and Colorado's pristine mountain country. Riders of all skill levels will enjoy their 'day on the range' with our experienced guides and happy, healthy horses and mules. Learn the basics with a private riding lesson or work cattle in our arena!

SUNRISE RIDE
Start the day off right, with a hot cuppa joe and an early morning ride. No need to gussy-up, throw on your jeans and we’ll let you wake up the critters. 7:00 - 9:00 am. Reservations are required. Minimum 3 guests, $75/guest.
SUNSET RIDE
A perfect way to end a great day at the Ranch, ride off into the sunset at a peaceful and cooler time of day. 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Reservations are required. Minimum 3 guests, $75/guest.
MEADOW LUNCH
We’ll pick you up at the Lodge on our horsedrawn wagon and take you to the quiet Sawmill Meadow for a tasty lunch of wraps, homemade chips and dessert. Relax and grub, we’ll take you home the long way so you’ll see all the sights. Bring your appetite and a camera. Noon to 2:30 pm. Reservations are required. Minimum 8 guests, $50/guest.
KIDS BARN BBQ
Send Mom and Dad to dinner at Ranch House Restaurant, us kids will take a wagon ride up to the stables for a pint-sized BBQ. We’ll play games, clean our plates and tell tall tales while you enjoy a grown-up night out. When you’re done, we’ll hop the wagon back to the Lodge. 5:30 pm pick-up. Reservations are required. Minimum 6 kids. $50/child.
DINNER WAGON RIDES
Nothing’s better than an old-fashioned cook-out. We’ll pick you up at the Lodge and take you over the river, through the woods, and back to the stables where we’ll rustle you up a chili and cornbread feast to remember. A special treat for big families, groups or wedding parties. Minimums do apply and reservations are required. Exact price depends on number of guests and menu. Call for details.
LITTLE COWPOKES’ DAY AT THE RANCH
Introduce your small-fry’s to ranch life! We’ll spend the morning educating the young-uns on horses & horsemanship and have a hearty BBQ lunch at the stables. Then we’ll spend the afternoon on the low ropes course. We promise they’ll be good and tuckered out by the time you come back. Reservations are required. Minimum 4 kids. Age restrictions may apply. $150/child.
COWBOY UP
If you’re staying with us for several days, this is the best way to really experience the stables! You’ll have an hour riding lesson on your first day here, then choose two afternoons for trails rides. We can add in cattle work in the arena if you really want some good stories to take back home with you. You’ll be a full-fledged cowboy by the time we’re done with ya. Intro lesson 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Afternoon trail rides 2-1/2 hrs each. Cattle work is $20 add’l. Reservations are required. Minimum 2 guests. $200/guest.
PONY CLUB
If you’ve got a pony-lovin’ kid on your hands, or a passel of young-uns, the Pony Club punchcard is the way to go. Five pony rides - take ‘em all in one day, or spread them out over your visit. Our fun and friendly ponies are standing by. Age/weight restrictions apply. $140/card.
DEVIL’S THUMB RANCH RIDING CLUB
Reckon you outgrew the Pony Club? Pull up your britches and dry your tears. This grown-up version gets you three 1/2 day trail rides, or one hour of horsemanship lessons and two 1/2 day trail rides. Transferable/Share-able. $200/card.
DTR SHODEO
Get your boots on, gather up friends and family and throw your own rodeo! We’ll teach you everything you need to know to look like a professional cowboy in several events: Pole Bending, Barrel Racing, Egg Racing, Team Penning, and a Trail Adventure Course. We’ll practice from 1 to 3 pm, then it’s Showtime! We’ll score you and declare a winner and braggin’ rights. Offered to in-house guests only. Reservations are required. Minimum 3 guests. $125/guest.
