½ Day Horseback Ride (Offered 9:30am & 1.30pm dail) $90.00 pp

This is a 2 ½ hour which will explore the meadows, woodlands, creeks & hilltops of Devils Thumb Ranch upon one of our happy, healthy horses.

Children must be 8 and older.

1 ½ Hour Horseback Ride (Offered 10.00 am and 2:30 pm daily)$75.00 pp

A great length of ride for parents introducing younger children to riding, or for those wishing a shorter horseback experience.

Children must be 8 or older.

Full-Day Horseback Ride (Offered daily from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm-Boxed lunch included)$170.00 pp

For the more adventurous rider who would like to explore the far flung corners of the ranch.

3 person minimum or $400.00

Children must be 10 or older.

Ranchers Ride (Offered from 1.30pm to 4:00 pm daily)$105.00 pp

2 ½ hour combination of trail riding & team penning (afternoons only).

Improve your riding skills while you learn to cut, move & pen cattle under the watchful eye of your friendly Wrangler; then put your new found horsemanship skills to the test out on the trail.   

A truly western experience for all abilities of rider to enjoy. 

3 person minimum or $315 and there is a 6 person maximum per ½ day.

PRIVATE Rides – always welcome (may be added to most horseback rides- Minimums apply)$20.00 pp (additionally)

Enjoy our full attention on a private ride.  Perfect for special occasions or surprise proposals!

30 Minute Pony Rides (lead rein) $35.00 per child

Not the average walk in a circle: your lil’ buckaroo will love our wonderful scenic loop through the woods!

Pony Ride Punch Card $140.00 per card

5 pony rides for the price of 4!

Valid throughout summer season & transferable between friends.

Buckaroo Hour (offered daily from 12:30 to 1:30 pm) $75.00 per child

1 hour arena & horse care lesson for kids aged 7 yrs – 12yrs.

Maximum 6 children, no minimums. 

Multi-child discount: 2 or more = $65 per child; 3 or more $55 per child.

Family Ride (Offered daily from 12:30 to 1:15pm) $45.00 pp

45 minute horseback experience for the whole family!

Adults & children (8 years+) will learn the basics and independently ride alongside the lil’ buckaroos in the family (under 8 years, lead rein) on our short, scenic, pony ride loop.

Off-road Buggy Rides (Offered daily from 12:30 to 1:30pm)  $35.00 (13 and up)

Daily from 12.30pm – 1.30pm.  Maximum of 22 guests. $30.00 (6 to 12)

A great way for all of our guests to tour the property and learn the history of the ranch.  FREE (5 and under)

Open to all ages & abilities.

Private rides are available for additional charge of $10.00 pp with a minimum of $300.

Add lunch & drinks on board for an additional $15.00 per person (24 hours notice required)

Dinner Wagon Rides (Offered 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm daily) $75.00 (8 and up)

Offered 5:00pm – 7:30 pm daily. $35.00 (4 to 7)

45minute wagon ride followed by a campfire dinner at the stables. FREE (3 and under)                                          

Minimum of 6 guests or $400.  Private rides are available for additional charge of $10.00 pp with a minimum of $700.

Reservations required (48 hours advanced notice required for dinner wagon rides).

Secondary Offerings

Sunset Ride (Offered from 5:00 to 7:00 pm daily from June 1 -September 1) $90.00 pp

Enjoy the tranquility & beauty of the ranch at dusk.

Minimum of 4 guests or $360.00

Children must be 8 or older.

Shodeo (offered from 1:30 to 4 pm daily) $125.00 pp

1.30 pm to 3 pm:  Get to know your horse & practice your horsemanship skills.

3 pm to 4 pm: Shodeo Time – show off your shodeo skills (barrels, pole bending, key hole, eggs race and cattle team penning are just a few possible events).

Minimum of 6 guests and maximum of 12 guests.

DTR guests are invited to enjoy some lemonade & watch Shodeo’s in the arena for $10.00 pp.

Children must be 8 or older.

Ranch Kids Party (Offered 5:30 to 7:30 pm daily) $50.00 pp

Advance reservations required (48 hours).

Need a little adult time?  Why not let us look after the kids for a night?

We’ll pick your kids up, from the cabins or lodge, by a horse-drawn wagon and whisk them away for a BBQ dinner at the stables.  We’ll then make sure they work off their dinner with some fun outdoor games & critter fun, so that we can return them safely to your care: tired, happy & fed. Minimum of 6 kids or $300.00.  Children must be 8 or older.

Horsemanship lessons  $75.00 pp

Develop your skill base & learn new techniques in our arena or on the trail.

Language of horses (10 years & over)$45.00 pp

45 minute practical lesson that will introduce guests to natural horsemanship techniques

Study the interaction of the herd in the corral

Discussion of horses body language & principal of pressure & release

Catching (having the horse catch you), ground work & round penning

Old MacDonald $45.00 pp

45 minute farm experience geared towards families of all ages; great for rainy days!

Meet the critters (learn about the goats, hens, steers, cats & bunny)

Egg Hunt (4 eggs hidden around barn with farmyard clues/riddles).

Groom & tack up pony, then go for 5 minute ride around barn.

Decorate your own horse shoe to take home.

Important Notes and Facts

All Cabin Creek Stables activities must be taken with a reservation and held with a CC,  folio or room number. 

There is a 2 day (48 hour) cancellation policy. 

All activities are weather and surface condition dependent. 

Weight restrictions do apply for horseback riding. <6ft no more than 220lbs, > 6ft no more than 240lbs.

All reservations and activities are taken on a first come first service basis.  Please advice guests to book early!

Stable’s staff has the right to restrict or limit activities in order to provide the safest equine adventure.
