Summer Fun If you decide to spend a summer day away from the Ranch, Grand County is unparalleled in true mountain town fun. Winter Park and Winter Park Resort have more than 600 miles of mountain biking trails, a rodeo every weekend, and a nearly mile-long Alpine Slide. And your Colorado mountain vacation isn't complete if you've never hit a golf ball at high-altitude! The area boasts three championship courses all located within minutes of the Ranch. Grand Lake is only 40 minutes away. There you'll find shopping, professional theater, and the state's largest natural lake for boating. Or, take one of our guided tours of Rocky Mountain National Park, where outdoor recreation, wildlife viewing and scenic wonders abound. And on the way back to the Ranch, stop by for a soak at Hot Sulphur Springs. Since we're so close, we're the perfect place to stay if you're looking for Rocky Mountain National Park lodging. If you're looking to do some serious high altitude hiking, Indian Peaks Wilderness Area is just down the road. Or you can hike up to the 400 foot granite outcropping for which the Ranch is named – Devil's Thumb.
